Six, haircut, and lost a tooth

Anna Claire is turning six tomorrow. I can't believe it! We are so proud of the precious little girl she has become. Tonight as I put her to bed we were talking and looking at pictures of when she was born, she is so grown up to me these days. Her birthday party is not until next weekend since this weekend is Easter.

She has lost her first tooth and pulled it out herself last night before bed but wanted to wait until tonight to put it under her pillow so she could show Ms. Thomas her tooth. She also got a haircut to go along with the new look. I love her hair short even though she says she doesn't. She begged to have it cut, and in typical female fashion wants it back long now!!!

I love you Miss Anna Claire...to the moon and back. You are my sunshine!

It RUNS in the family

the daddy is a runner as is the grandpa. Naturally they have races in the front yard with "first girl" and "first boy" awards. Think they have been to some races in their life?

A day with Grandpa

Last weekend Grandpa took Leighton to see all of his favorites....a train and some construction trucks. These 2 are really just too cute together. I seriously think the Grandpa of the year award goes to Matt's dad. He has a love for our kids that I can't explain....it is so cute to watch him and Leighton together. They do all kinds of fun stuff ...Leighton never leaves his side and must Grandpa 100 times.

The evening after they got back and we were getting ready for bed Leighton got in trouble for something I can't even remember what probably hitting his sister or something and after I put him in time out he said "I wanna go back to Grandpa's house." HA! I don't think Grandpa has a time out. :)

Our kids are just so blessed with Grandparents who love them so much.

Anna Claire's Wacky Wednesday

Last week at school Anna Claire had wacky Wednesday. They could dress silly, backwards, just whatever was wacky to them. She wore her shirt backwards, 2 different socks and shoes, and nothing matched. They were really cute and SO excited, maybe the most excited I've seen yet. One of her classmates (boy) came in with pigtails and pink bows and the class went nuts. They walked backwards to the cafeteria and enrichment and started the day off on checkered flag (conduct system....normally they start on green).

It's not real....how can she be one.

Caroline is such a blessing to all of us and we are just blessed to have her in our family. It's been a great year. I absolutley love the first year. It is bliss.

A little about my sweetheart at one:

She is VERY stable on her feet and rarely falls.
She is a happy girl unless she is tired or hungry...or you take something away from her.....and then she screams her little head off.
She can be pretty dramatic.
She has the lightest colored hair of any of our babies.
Sometimes she sleep through the night...goes to bed around 6:30 or 7pm.
Still loves her bottle and paci.
Snuggles with her silky pink blanket everytime she goes to sleep.
I bet she weighs around 20lbs. We go for her 1 year checkup next week.
She is a climber.
Not much of a snuggler unless she is pretty tired. She always wants down to see what brother and sis are doing.
Most days she takes 2 nap sometimes only one.


It seems like it has by far been the fastest first year of  life (compared to the other 2 which were fast themselves). I remember the moment she was born and the first time brother and sister saw her. Caroline we love you little one!!!

Someone got thier ears pierced

I still can't believe she did it. This is a child who has nightmares about shots and needles of any kind. She says she will never be a mommy bc you have to get a shot to have a baby. Oh sweet girl.....a shot is a slice of pie compared to birthing the baby! HA!

My sister took her and yes I agreed. That is really even harder to believe....I thought I would make her wait until she was like 15. I kind of wished I had now....oh well. She feels like a big girl.Hello Kitty was her choice and I think it is SO Anna Claire!

Little update

 

The 100th day of kindergarten. 

I can't believe it!!! It's been a fun 100 days. We are blessed to be where we are, we love Ms. Thomas. Anna Claire really has grown to like school. She would still rather be home, but I think it's growing on her. Her favorite part about school is centers, which was her fav in pre-school too. Crafts and art are still a favorite at school and home. She loves to play on the computer...barbie.com and webkinz. Favorite TV shows are Hannah Montana and Fresh Beat Band.Playing with friends is her favorite past time of all.

Leighton and I went with some friends to see Sesame Street Live. 

He had a blast.

Leighton is a mommy's boy still and I love it. Trains, cars, all things with wheels occupy his time. He also loves to have books read to him. He loves his little class at mother's day out and Sunday school. Bis sis is his best buddy and will play anything she wants to. He sometimes cries when she has to go to school. As soon as she gets in the car in the afternoon he says "Sis, how was your day?" When he is playing with daddy in his room he tells me and AC "no girls." His paci and blanky are never far. He loves songs and TV. Wow Wow Wubzy is his ABSOLUTE favorite.  Big foot, Boz and Chip and Dale are in the top 3.

She is a daddy's girl!!!(someone will be one next week...sniff sniff)

Caroline is VERY VERY mobile and keeps us busy. She is a happy girl, smiling and laughing all the time. She loves to play in brother's room and climb on his bed. This morning I found her on the table in the kitchen (it's the kids small table). Her eyes are so big and blue and melt my heart. Especially when she's smiling. A good friend and I have decided when they are one we start wanting another one. So true!!! Like my mom always said "you can't always get what you want." I think Matt was right about not having enough room for a fourth....he said we could put the crib on the front porch. HA!!!

These 3 little people (and their daddy) are so special to me and I am beyond blessed to have them. Everyday (as tiring as they are sometimes) is special and I am trying to slow down and enjoy these magical moments!!! That is my goal for 2010....slowing down....even though I know it won't happen. Ha! I can attempt.

Side note...bc if I don't do it now I won't remember later.

Last night: AC and LMW playing baby dolls that are sick. 

AC: Can you hold my baby she is just born.

Me: Sure. How old is she? 

AC: One month. 

Me: She is so cute. How is she doing?

AC: good. but when she was first born she had breathing problems. 

Me: oh really. 

AC: yes she had themonia (pneumonia) and breath cancer. 

LMW: hands her a toy magnifying glass and says, here's her a magazine. That will make her feel better!!!

I laughed for 20 minutes. I couldn't even talk I was laughing so hard! One of my favorites is when they say things wrong. LOVE IT!!!
