Good night

The best thing about the big boy bed is that it is a great place to pray. We all 4 (Caroline is usually already asleep) use Leighton's bed as our prayer altar. I can't think of a better feeling than being on my knees praying with my entire family (almost entire family).

Leighton is doing great in his "big boy" bed. He goes right to sleep with his monkeys, blanket and passy. He stays there all night. We are so proud of our big boy.

A missed family member and a new family member

Biz is back for a visit, I think we have really missed him lately. He has been at Grandma and Grandpa's house (his other home) for a while now...getting some much needed attention.AC wanted him to be here when she came home Friday from school, and he was.

Caroline is very interested in him.

This is Goldie our new fish, I know you can't really see her good in this picture. She is camera shy, traumatized, over fed, and hypothermic from the cold water that plunges into her bowl frequently. But she is surviving like the rest of us.

Caroline at 6 months

Sunshine is growing up fast and doing lots of tricks:
Pulling up
Crawling
still eating great and nursing/some formula
waking up at least twice a night still
loving her daddy-- she lights up when he walks in (and reaches for him)
Caroline is a good/happy baby unless she is tired or hungry (sounds like me)
She likes Baby Einstien
Squeals a lot
I think I hear Mama (really just an "m" sound)...however it's probably wishful hearing.
She loves to be held and kissed.

Her beautiful blue eyes can light up a room, and I just love, love, love my Caroline.

We call her May a lot (middle name) and I just love every moment with my May. It's been a sweet 6 months.

sick days

Anna Claire is on her 3rd sick day this school year. She has a fever virus and can't seem to shake it. I took her to the doctor today and he said it may last up to a week....uhhhh! It comes and goes, that's the crazy thing.

The good news is she wants to go back to school, I however am enjoying her being home (I am not glad she is sick). We have watched our share of Tom and Jerry and I have gotten some good snuggle time in.

 

If only...

I could stop kissing her long enough, I could get some things done.

I really think I might just eat her up!

Anna Claire's first sleep over

Anna Claire had her first sleep over at her sweet friend Ellery's house (her mom is my sweet friend) last weekend. It ranks up there with the all time favorites, she talks about it still and loves to tell people she had a sleep over. They went to Movies and Moonbeams to see Bolt which was super fun. I think the waking up together and playing Barbies at 6:00am was pretty cool too.

I HEART CROCKPOT RECIPES

Especially this one.

Now that school has started, I will be using my crock pot a lot. It is nice not to have to prepare dinner in the few hours we have to play after school (we aren't in a home work phase yet).

Crockpot Smothered Chicken

4 Whole breasts(boned and skinned)
12 ounces Mushrooms; fresh
1 can Cream of mushroom soup
1 can Cream of chicken soup
1 can French onion soup
Celery; chopped
Baby corn; etc.

Cut chicken breasts into stew size chunks, and saute while washing and cutting mushrooms in half. Then simply mix all ingredients and put in a crock pot and simmer all day 'til dinner. Serve over rice, noodles or potatoes.

The best thing about having a small house

Our VERY small house has it's advantages.I can hear everything from every room. A few days ago Anna Claire and Merritt were in AC's room playing and like usual I was listening to them play, (that's what freak moms like me do when their kids have play dates) it was "the animal clinic" and here is what I heard:

MS: My dog has swine flu, cancer and and an ear infection so she has to go in a separate room.
AC: No, mine has cancer too so she has to go in the same room.
MS : Your pet will need an antibiotic and some ear drops.
AC: Mine also has stripped throat.

Are you kidding me???? Free entertainment.

Leighton's big day

Leighton had his first day of Mother's Day Out on Tuesday. He did pretty good, especially considering he has been away from me (unless it's with Matt or a grandparent) very little. He did better than I did. I thought with the 2nd and 3rd child it would be easier to leave them. Not for me. I missed my little man, just like I miss AC when she is at school. AC was actually home sick from school on Tuesday, and we were sitting in the floor playing and she picked up a little car and said "this reminds me of Lay" and we both talked about how we missed him. Matt said we were pathetic and needed to get a life and I think he is right. (I know I need to get a life).

He took his nap at "school" and ate his lunch, which seem to be what we hear about the most. He goes once a week, maybe 2 in the future.

My mom will keep Caroline for me on Tuesdays so a no kid day for me! I am excited about starting a women's bible study , getting some things done at home and volunteering at Anna Claire's school. (can i really fit all that in one day???? we will see)
