Christmas Eve

We started the Christmas fun the Sunday before Christmas at my grandmothers (no pictures, sorry). I didn't even get a chance to take any. Next we celebrated Christmas with Matt's family on Christmas Eve evening. We had dinner at thier house, presents and then went to church. We had a great time. I didn't get any pictures at grandma and grandpas either, it was just too hectic with the kids opening presents etc.

Here are some of Leighton, he spent the afternoon outside with daddy before we went to Matt's parent's house. Matt smoked a turkey and ham for our dinner. They were yummy, all of the food was.




Grandma and Grandpa gave Anna Claire her very own digital camera for one of her gifts. These last 2 pictures are ones she took. The one of the tree is a picture of her Barbie ornament. And the other well if you can't tell what it is, you need an eye exam. It's one BIG mamma and her sweet adorable husband!!!!! :)

Leighton

Leighton is growing up too fast. He is my baby still and always will be. The personality this boy has is just so cute. He is......well what is the word, just Leighton. Happy or MAD!!! He can be hard to make happy, still not a great sleeper for me at night, and dosen't want to sit still EVER EVER!

With that said, I can still say life with him is fabulous. I love it. I love staring at him, watching him when he's happy or fussy. He and his sister interact in a way I can't explain. Even if it's fighting, it's a blessing. Today all I can think about is how blessed I feel.

He is really starting to talk a lot. I love to hear him say words. He likes to say mine, bath, bubbles, popcorn,

Dallas White Rock Marathon 2008

Maybe this will be a more organized post. We'll see.

So Matt ran in the Dallas White Rock Marathon and did great. Especially considering the weather was hot (warm for running long distance anyway). He finished in 3 hours and 18 min which is in the top 150 of 15,00 people. Pretty good I think. He still wants faster though, go figure. We are so proud of him.

Matt and I went just the two of us. Matt's parents and my parents kept the kids. We really enjoyed the quiet time!!!! I think the kids had fun too.

Come on Christmas!

I think we have packed all we can get into December: A visit from Blake and my brother, a Marathon in Dallas, Christmas school party, shopping, PJ night at church, most of the baking we are going to do and a visit with Santa to name a few. The only thing left is to go ice skating and see the lights in Marshall which hopefully will happen tonight. We had a fun visit with my nephew Blake and my brother who came in town after Thanksgiving. It's always fun to be with them but SAD to see them go. I REALLY wish they lived closer. Blake stayed for almost 2 weeks. I always loved time with cousins and I think our kids do too. Anna Claire is already asking when we are going to Vegas. We took the kids to the cutest PJ night at church while Blake was here. For Anna Claire's age they had a cute spa set up where the girls had their hair and nails and toes done. She LOVED it. Blake got to have pizza and a movie, and Leighton age they just played and sent home cute pictures of the little ones by the manger scene. Let's see, oh yes and the most difficult task of December (Matt agrees even harder than running 26.2 miles) okay well maybe not that hard was getting one, JUST ONE stinkin picture for our Christmas card. Take a look at the many attempts, quite funny. The marathon pictures are going in a separate post. I can't move the pictures around the way I need to so they are in random order....sorry.

A Good Read

The book I am reading right now is fabulous. It's called Sacred Marriage. I happened upon this girls blog who is reading it too. I love her post about submission, I couldn't agree more. Check it out, oh and by the way it's a really fun family to follow.

Our Thanksgiving

Anna Claire had a fun feast at school. I love seeing her with all of her school friends.

We had a great Thanksgiving Day! We went to Monroe to my aunts house and had lots of fun and ate LOTS of yummy food. The kids had a great time.
