Fun Together

Leighton's new favorite thing is pulling all of Anna Claire's clothes out of her drawers and throwing them on the floor.....you can see he also likes to move his potty from room to room :)

Both of our children have one favorite type of play......running wild!

The girls in our Sunday School class gave me and one other girl a baby shower Sunday. I have said from the beginning I didn't want a shower or anything for a 3rd baby. I am VERY excited about this baby, but I just think it's different with the 3rd baby (who is going to live in one corner of my bedroom :) But they do it no matter what I guess. It was a lot of fun having a double shower and Caroline got some great things.I LOVED the cake.

Danielle and I are both due on the exact same day.....crazy! Our SS class is so wonderful and I love it. I'm so thankful we found a class we like SO much, I have no doubt God placed us where He wanted us to be.

The picture of Danielle and I is fuzzy, hopefully someone else has a better one I can get to replace the one above.

I went to the doctor today, everything is great. No swelling so far and no blood pressure problems. I am so excited about that!This could quite possibly be the healthiest pregnancy I've had. Dr. appts are every week now. It feels like we are just knocking at the door, I can't wait to meet my sweet Caroline. I thank God for our health constantly, there are so many out there struggling to get pregnant or having problems with pregnancy's. I pray for God's grace for those people, I can't imagine.

Mexican Chicken Recipe

I am starting to use my blog as a way to store some of my favorite recipes. This one is one of my favorite casserole dishes. My mom always made it. Matt will even eat this one so I make it often. We are having tonight :) Yum.

chicken breast (I use about 3 breast)
1 can of cream of chicken soup (I use the low fat one)
1 can of cream of celery soup
1 can of rotel tomatoes
tortilla chips
grated cheese
onion (i use 1 small one)

1.boil the chicken breast or even use a store bought (cooked) if I'm real lazy and dice it.
2. saute the onion in a little butter.
3. Mix the soups, rotel tomatoes, onion and chicken together.
4. Layer a baking dish (I use 9X13) with tortilla chips and then pour the mixture on top, top with grated cheese.
5. Bake at 350 for 20-30 min. until cheese is melted.

I serve it with spanish rice and sometimes mexican cornbread.

Granny and her girl

We still have our day a week with my mom. This is such a fun day for all of us. I get LOTS of stuff done and the kids get a whole day with Granny. She keeps them for me all day.

We've been doing this for a long time now, we started I think when Anna Claire was tiny and it's really been good for me to have a whole day to myself and I usually even get to do lunch or something with Granny and the kids or even Matt with no kids. WOW!

When Caroline comes it will give me time with just her. :)

Nesting

Matt has been cleaning for me all day. He has done the things I just can't do as easy anymore due to my large baby bump. Mostly cleaning base boards, scrubbing the tub, those chores that involve bending. I have to say that is the best gift a husband can give, well that and the fact that he brings me Sonic Diet Cokes without me asking. He even helped me get caught up on laundry, which by the way I think is the devil . Laundry is like a bad habit, it never stops nagging. So I am one happy mamma tonight. Thank you Matt!!!! I love you.

As I type I am so enjoying my clean house which will look like a storm has come through by 9:00 am tomorrow, but I do think the clutter of small children is a beautiful thing. We know one day we won't have that clutter when they are grown and so we want to enjoy it.

I have decluttered (not sure if this is a word) since the day we moved into this house because of it's VERY small size, so how do we have so much stuff?????? I can't even begin to count the number of bags I take to Providence House and Goodwill ALL the time. If anyone who reads this blog has issues with holding onto things, call me, I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting rid of things I don't use. I think I've even got Matt throwing out things he hasn't used in a while. My new rule.....if it hasn't been used in 1 year, I don't have room for it. Maybe when we move I'll change it to two years, I don't know. I watch shows about people who can't throw things away and I am confused.

Happy 2009

Grandpa's boy. Leighton LOVES his Grandpa.

We had a great New Year's Eve and New Years Day. On New Year's Eve Grandma and Grandpa came over for dinner and fire works. The kids both loved the fire works and we had a great time. I was asleep WAY before midnight, we all were.

New Year's Day we hung out at home, I made lots of food.....black eyed peas and all the things my mom always made us eat. I couldn't get Anna Claire to eat the peas or the green beans (the only thing green they will all eat) but the rest of us ate it all. I just don't get it, she must get it from Matt, because I LOVED vegetables, peas, etc. Matt wont' touch most vegetables so I don't fix them much anymore. I guess I've let him convert us to his way of eating. I'm still working on him....some old habits die hard. My mom and I were talking about how silly it is that we insist on eating this stuff every year because it is not working :) It's still fun to carry on the tradition. I love the traditions from my childhood. My parents were BIG on tradition and now I love it.

I was thinking about the Christmas that Matt proposed to me and the New Year's following it. It snowed New Year's Day and it was beautiful. I was on cloud nine. I was most certainly not asleep at 10 pm that year. Wow how times have changed. This has been a very random post, I need to go to bed.

Chicken Pox and Baby Update

Anna Claire has Chicken Pox. I can't believe it because she got the immunization for it as a baby and the booster at 4. I talked to her Pedi and apparently they don't see cases of it much at all anymore. She has had them for a week and they are getting better. She missed what would have been the 1st day back to school after the holidays, but hopefully she will get to go back on Wed. She is SO ready to get back to seeing her friends.

I went to the OB last week and our little girl is growing and all is well. I had an ultrasound and she is a little over 4 lbs. It's getting close and I go to the doc every 2 weeks now. We can't wait to meet #3 and we talk about her at home with the kids all the time. Her name remains a mystery to me. We are thinking we may decide when we see her. We even talk now about changing her first name......I'm not having anything monogrammed yet, at least not until Matt gives me his final decision. Usually I'm the one that can't decide, but this time it's him. :) hormones maybe????

Christmas Day

We had so much fun on Christmas Day. We woke up to Santa of course, which was magical. Anna Claire and Leighton were so cute. We try not to go over board (Santa tries not to go over board). But some how once it's all out there it seems like they have SO much.

Granny and Papaw came over Christmas morning and we did our family Christmas with them over breakfast and presents. Next we headed over to my Aunt Linda's for a fabulous lunch, lots of playing in the backyard, and even more presents. Then home and we've been playing with our new toys ever since.
