Beach Trip Part 1

We had a great time at the beach. We went to Ft. Walton Beach Florida and enjoyed lots of fun in the sun. The kids loved it. We all had an AWESOME time.
We stopped at the Zoo on the way to the beach. The kids enjoyed all of the animals. We saw a huge hippo and everytime Matt walked by him holding Leighton the hungry hippo opened his mouth. It was a bit freaky. Anna Claire said "I think he wants to eat Lay Lay." I think she was right. Here is the hippo ready for some lunch! :)

We talked about the beach SO much before we left, got pedicures and did a lot of shopping, etc to prepare for the trip, so AC was more than excited before we ever arrived in Fl. I loved her expression we she first saw the beach. She has been now 3 times, but I guess she didn't really remember it. We skipped last year since Lay was born in May. So she was only 2 the last time she went. Her eyes got huge and full of excitement. Priceless.

Every time we go to Ft. Walton we go to this wonderful little local resturant called Rick's Crab Trap. The fish and seafood are fabulous. They have a little outdoor dock where you can feed the fish, which is always fun.

The meal was yummy!

Anna Claire had fun going crabbing. She found this tiny little glow in the dark crab (so we called it). It really did glow, it was pretty neat. She was so proud to hold it and be so brave unlike me. I would NEVER!

There is nothing more precious to me than watching my kids play together on the beach. I will always remember the excitement and the warm fuzzy feeling it gave me. What a beautiful site.

The Latest

Every time I start to update, something comes up. Imagine that! Let's see ....what's been going on? Sister dressed him for a dance party...sorry buddy!

Sweet little Leighton has been sick, he's had ear infections and a cold. He was pretty miserable with this round of ear infections, I think were getting close to having tubes. Other than that he is doing really well and is a happy VERY active boy.

He is 15 months old now and he is BUSY! Here's some things about our boy:

1. He is a DADDY'S BOY. He loves Matt, he says dada all day long and wants Matt to get him to sleep.

2. He loves any and every cord in our house. Also electronics....loves them.

3. Loves outside and can say it pretty well.

4. Also says Anna, Sissy, Hi, mama, hot dog, dog, Barbie, Biz and bye bye. He will say hi until someone says it back to him.

5. He has to be one of the busiest babies I've ever seen. Both of our kids are SO full of energy.

6. He's a terrible sleeper.

7. Loves his bath.

8. He's an okay eater, he and sister like to snack instead of eating big meals.

I could go on and on, but these are some things that come to mind.

We are going to the beach in a week or so, and we're looking forward to the get away!

Anna Claire is having a great summer, I never like for school to start, I just miss her, even though I know it's good for she and I both. She's excited about it. This summer has flown by. We have spent lots of great time with friends. I feel so blessed to have so many sweet friends with sweet kiddos. We have spent some quality time with new and old friends this summer. I love play dates with friends.

I was getting Leighton some dinner ready and I opened a can of fruit cocktail. He tried it at my mom's, which I knew, so I asked Anna Claire, "Did Lay like this at granny's?" She said "Oh mom is that fruit cotton tail?" I LOVE when she says stuff like that! Of course I didn't even correct her.

Pictures and Updates

So, here is some recent happenings:

We recently went to a wedding, I guess we haven't been to one since AC has been old enough to really love it. Well, she has talked about the prince and princess, the flower girl, who she will marry, etc, etc. She LOVED it. Just like here Mommy I guess. The mother of the bride said to me about the bride (her daughter) when I told her how beautiful it was, she said "she's been planning this wedding since she was in the womb." It made me smile, bc I was the same way and still LOVE weddings. It reminded me of the excitement and beauty and mystery of marriage....okay enough lovey dovey right! Sorry I'm a sucker for weddings.

Matt has been doing A LOT of around the house chores before we close. The other morning he was outside, getting ready to get under the house, in nasty clothes, a mask, gloves, etc. The kids were really taken back by his appearance and I thought this pictures was cute of them looking at him out the window.
We went to a Birthday party for my sweet friend Stephanie's sweet little princess on Saturday. AC had fun swimming, sliding on a big water slide, and jumping. Meanwhile Leighton enjoyed his cake.

And well even more cake! He couldn't get enough. I thought it was so funny to watch him play and then return for more cake when he felt like it, what a life! :)

Grandma had a Birthday! AC had presents and pictures ready. She even brought a red sheer scarf of mine out to set the presents on. :)

Vacation Bible School...so fun! We had a blast. All of us enjoyed it, my class was so sweet. Those 5 year old kids were such a blessing to me.

Each day is a gift and a blessing! I know I say that a lot, but it's my constant reminder of all I have to be thankful for. God is good all the time!

NEWS

The Warren's are having another baby! We are very excited about number 3. The baby is due March 1st. I am about 9 weeks. It's been a crazy few weeks around here with the move coming up and a lack of energy on my part. I had forgotten ALL about early pregnancy, whew I remember now, the fatigue and nausea are not fun, but it is absolutely worth it. I can't wait to add one more to the crew. I've got pictures to post later......

Busy Little Bee's

We have been a busy family lately. Since my last entry we have sold our house and are looking hard for another (bigger) one. We feel sad to leave the place where we have had SO many special memories, but it's time, it's been time since Leighton joined our family.

We had a fun 4th of July weekend hanging out with family.


Anna Claire and Leighton are doing great. We are doing some swimming, some long lazy summer days, and some house hunting now. The kids have been great as we have dragged them to and from like crazy looking at houses, etc. Leighton has been getting up 2 and 3 times a night now for about 2 weeks and is really cranky. I may have to take him back to the doctor. He had an ear infection about 2 weeks ago and has been on antibiotics. Not sure what's going on with him, maybe he's getting some teeth.
Anna Claire has enjoyed her summer so far. She's played with lots of friends, and we'll be doing Vacation Bible School next week. I will be teaching a class and am VERY excited about it.
