The Poor Trees and Date Night

We had a date night with our sweet Anna Bannana over the weekend while Matt's parents kept Leighton. We had so much fun with our girl...all we did was go to the bookstore and out for ice cream, but she loved having mommy and daddy all to herself for one night!

Today we had some guys here all day to trim some of our trees because the city decided they were too close to the power lines. They got here around 8:00 this morning. Anna Claire asked who they were, what they were doing here, etc. The normal drill from a very curious 3 year old. I explained it to her and she looked at me with this really sad face and said " I don't want them to cut the trees!" She told me she didn't want the trees to hurt. So I just told her that they wouldn't hurt at all, etc. etc. She asked about it all day and was sad for the trees. Even upon returning from bible school, that was the first thing she asked me about. Funny what goes on in that pretty little head.

Biz loves his baby brother!

NO MORE NAPS!

This is day number 4 without a nap for my big girl. Anna Claire is finally giving them up I guess, but here is the bad part...she has a very hard time making it until a reasonable bed time (7:00 would be suffice) I know that seems early but 5:00 is early to me! Tonight she was eating in the living room and I went to the kitchen and back and this is what I found at 5:00pm. That's one tired girl because she is not one to just fall asleep anywhere. I still try daily to get her to nap but no luck unfortunately for mom. So I guess we'll be up very early in the morning.

2 Months Old!

Leighton is almost 3 months old actually, but I am posting pictures of 2 months. He is doing great...I am extremely in love with him!

He is smiling and cooing all the time now.

What's been going on?

We are having a great summer so far. Anna Claire loves to swim and we are about to put her in swimming lessons. I think she'll love it. We are getting into somewhat of a routine I guess. Leighton still eats and sleeps a lot, but were able to get out and do things more which is good because this momma likes to be on the go...so we are enjoying play dates, lunches with friends, swimming and lots of Target runs!!!! Leighton is a good baby...he has grown out of some of his fussiness and is smiling a lot now. I think when Anna Claire's sees him smile and interact some she realizes he's a person instead of just a tiny baby who doesn't do anything but sleep. She makes him laugh!!!

We had a fun 4th of July. We went out to support daddy in the firecracker 5K, which Anna Claire loved. She likes to go and cheer the runners on and then run with daddy afterwards.

The rest of the day on the 4th we went to some friends house to eat and swim.

Leighton had his 2 month check up. He's 13lb 11oz. BIG BOY! 90th percentile for his weight. Anna Claire didn't care too much for him getting his shots.

On antoher note....I have been thinking latley about how blessed I am, so here are the things I'm thankful for today:

1. Healthy kids and family

2. A great husband who is easy going

3. Having lots of people who help make my kids feel special.

4. Diet coke--especially Sonic Diet cokes (this one is a must with the late night feedings)

5. pacifiers

6. staying home with my babies

7. Wednesdays (the day we spend all day at my moms)...I take marathon naps while she entertains both kids. oh and cooks one of may favorite meals each wed for lunch and usually something to take home for dinner (home cooked). That sweet lady is my hero...i love her!

8. I can't say enough how much I feel blessed for our health! I have been thinking a lot lately about less fortunate families and I don't ever want to take for granted my healthy babies!

Happy Father's Day

We had a great Father's Day with Daddy! We just went to church and spent the day with family. Anna Claire and Leighton are so blessed to have such a wonderful daddy. He is so giving of his time and loves to play. We love Daddy.

Animal lover

We took Anna Claire to the library Saturday for a special event. They had a guy there from the pet store with all sorts of animals. I can't believe she was so brave...unlike her mommy.

Leighton is 1 month old!

Leighton is 1 month old...I can't believe it! He's doing great and so is sister. He's getting big so fast and loves to eat...can't you tell. He's our little snuggly boy.

We are settling in just great since the addition of our sweet Leighton. Anna Claire is being a really sweet big sister and Leighton is a good baby. We feel like our family is so complete now! Well until I decide I want a third in a year or two. haha. Here are some recent pictures.

Leighton Matthew Warren, Jr. is here!

Our sweet Leighton has arrived. He was born May 7th at 9:45 p.m.

Last Monday we went to the doctor and found out he wanted us to be at the hospital Tuesday night, May 8th to be induced on Wed. Leighton had another plan however...around 2:30 Monday after my doctor's appointment Anna Claire and I laid down together for a nap. I woke around 3:00 or so to go to the bathroom, after I did my water broke!!!! Matt came home and we went to the hospital, I was infull labor and Leighton arrived at 9:45pm healthy and perfect. He weighed 8lb 1oz and 20.5 inches long.

He is the sweetest baby and we feel so blessed to have him as part of our family.
We are all doing great. Big sister and Biz love him and can't get enough of him...especially sis!

My Little Pony

Matt and his dad took Anna Claire to see My Little Pony Live. She had a great time. And so did the boys!

Cinderella Ballet

I took Anna Claire to see the ballet version of Cinderella Sunday afternoon with my friend Holly and her daughter Avery and cousin Laney and one other friend and her daughter. The girls were so cute. There was a tea party before the ballet where they got to meet the cast and have a cute little lunch/tea.
The ballet was very good. It was pretty long, but they sat pretty still . Anna Claire had a hard time keeping her little body still the whole time, but enjoyed it and has talked about the ballerina's since.

The girls changed into their dress up clothes at the end of the tea party, which they loved.

Trapped

I don't think Biz enjoys the playhouse the way Anna Claire does :) Especially when she locks him in and pretends he's in time out.
