Are You Ready to get your Jingle On?

I have been tagged by Christi to answer the question, are you ready to get your jingle on?

I am ABSOLUTLEY ready! I love this time of year. Here's my list of why I love this time of year:

1. I too LOVE black Friday. It does not bother me ONE bit that the lines are long and there are so many people shopping. I don't get the whole ordering Christmas presents online. Where 's the fun in that. I do order some things I can't shop for here in Shreveport . Hopefully Matt will watch the kids and I will shop Friday.

2. I like making the chain to tear off a link each day with Anna Claire and now Leighton. We always did this growing up.

3. I LOVE, LOVE ,LOVE going to get a tree, getting the decorations out, drinking hot chocolate and decorating the house and tree. Anna Claire is made from the same mold as me, because she loves it and asks daily when we are getting the decorations out. We do it on the Saturday after black Friday. Can't wait :)

4. I love the manger scene, looking at it and talking about it with Anna Claire (Leighton too of course). I love the way it takes me there, I love to think about the wonder and the beauty of that night in Bethlehem.

5. I love going to Bethlehem at Broadmoor. We have taken Anna Claire the past 2 years. She has asked if were going this year and we are. Such a neat thing our church does.

6. I too like walking in ANY store at Christmas time (even Best Buy) and hearing Christmas music playing.

7. Sitting by the fire is a family favorite all winter in our house, but especially when the tree and decorations are up.

8. Driving around listening to Christmas music and looking at lights. Also we have taken Anna Claire to Marshall to look at the lights and ice skate, which I hope we do this year. I think Leighton will love the lights this year.

9. I love all of the family get togethers, oh and the food!!!! I love being fat and pregnant this time of year and eating lots of sweet snacks. :) Seriously, the time with family is so special. We have lots of fun Christmas memories and will make many more I'm sure.

10. I liked last year taking Anna Claire to the store to pick out a toy for a child who may only get that one gift on Christmas. We wrap it and drop it off at the fire station. I think it's a good lesson in giving. This year I think she will understand better and it will be very good for her to give instead of always being the one who gets. This year will be challenging I'm sure but that's okay, more reason to do it. Were in a want ,want ,want stage right now. uhhhhh, drives me nuts!

SO Sad

I came across this girls blog when I was part of Team Ethan (St. Jude Marathon).

This poor family had a 2 year old (I think 2) little girl named Alivia who dies of leukemia probably about a year ago. Of course after a long tired battle for the beautiful angel. I think they tried for a long time to get pregnant with Alivia, and after she went to be with Jesus they decided to adopt. They got the call that they were receiving a new born baby boy. Long story short they met him at the hospital and fell in love with him. The birth mom changed her mind and they came home without him. She then changed her mind again and they've had him a couple of weeks. She had 30 days to change her mind again and did yesterday. They come and get him from Emily and James (adopted parents) today at 1:00. So sad. Please pray for these poor parents. I can't even begin to imagine what they feel. I pray God brings him back home to them.

New Bed and Soccer Party

Not much going on around here.
Anna Claire did get a new cute bed. Thanks Granny and Papaw. WE love it. She feels like a big girl. She was in a toddler bed. We've had a number of beds in her room now, including a full size bed, but due to space issues we are sticking with a twin. It has a pull out bed under it too. She calls it the drawer and she says she likes to sleep in the drawer.

All of these pictures are of her seeing it for the first time. She was at Grandma and Grandpa's house and they brought her home and we had it all ready for her.

Also, we had a little end of the season soccer party at our house. We had fun playing and meeting all of these sweet kids and their families this season. We will miss them.

Halloween

Halloween Day was SO much fun. Leighton had fun spending the night before Halloween with Grandma and Grandpa. I took a special snack to Anna Claire's class for Halloween. They are so cute and fun to watch. Anna Claire and I made cookies with orange and black sprinkles and we stuck spider rings in each one.

We went trick or treating on our street. Leighton constantly ate suckers and had fun watching the girls run from house to house. He got to do some trick or treating too. They had a blast. Anna Claire and Merrit LOVE coming back and handing out candy on the porch.

My mom celebrated her 60th Birthday! We had a great time going to dinner and back to our house afterwards for cake. Anna Claire did a lot of preparing for Granny's "party."

No Pumpkins

I have sat down 4 times to make this blog entry and I'm never able to finish. I have some catching up to do.

Before Halloween we took the kids to the Pumpkin Patch and found no pumpkins, so we went to Norton Art Gallery and took some pictures. I didn't get many good pictures, but here are a few of them. By the way, we are ready and excited about Halloween. We're planning on trick-or-treating in the neighboorhood.

30. When is the last time you laughed? Last night when my dad and mom were blind folded playing pin the hat on the turkey per Ac’s request.
31. Last time you cried? This morning when I dropped AC off at school. I teared up when they came to get her out in the car pool line, I said “have a good day” and she said “thanks mommy, I love you.” I didn’t even say I love you first, wow!
32. What swear word do you use the most?
Honestly I don’t. I was raised in a home (thankfully) where no one swore (sp?) So I never developed a habit of doing it and frankly can’t stand it.

The Great Pumpkin Run

This morning Matt ran in The Great Pumpkin Run. We all headed out to cheer him on. They had a costume contest, face painting, and pumpkin carving. We had lots of fun. Daddy did great and set a new record for his 5K time, we are proud of him, he's one fast Daddy.

Anna Claire changed her mind on her costume (no surprise) at 8:00 this morning. She went in some of her dress up clothes as a bride, turned out pretty cute. It was too cold for Leighton to wear his.
